Ace Frehley w. Gene & Paul - NYC, NY 26.06.1988

ACE FREHLEY
'Live With Gene & Paul'
New York City, New York, USA
June 26th 1988

This is not something with good quality, but this was a real rare show from Ace Frehley's solo career. This concert took place at the Limelight of New York, NY on June 26th 1988, during the 'Second Sighting' Tour. A partial and overdubbed audio from this concert was also broadcasted on FM. But here's an audience recording of the entire show. What makes this concert unique and special is because Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons joined on stage with Ace to perform 'Deuce'.
And since that reunion wasn´t part of the radio broadcast, this is the only version available.

This isn't the greatest sounding recording, but it's pretty accurate to what I was hearing where I was in the venue - pretty muddy other than the drums and a bit of echo. There's just one or two shouts from Scott where this peaks out, didn't expect that to happen. On the topic of the show, it was a lot of fun! Scott looked healthy and sounded pretty good, I was impressed overall. He also talked A LOT…the polar opposite of most STP gigs where he hardly says a word.

I don't have time to really give this a proper mastering so I've only tracked and amplified this a bit, if anyone wants to rework it a bit, I'd be happy to provide the master. I think it could sound better still if someone wants to put a bit of time into it.

Gig Notes:

The band were on their first visit to Glasgow with Mos Generator and Atragon doing supporting duties.

A cracking show with the guys giving it some and playing a fair selection from their back catalogue. Dave and Wino seemed particularly happy with the crowd response and it was commented upon that SV hadn't played Glasgow before, but also that they would be back in the future.

Recording notes and sound quality:

Recorded from near the RH PA in attempt to lose the talkers that were prevalent from Mos Generators set. I mostly succeeded. There is the occasional bit of phasing when a couple of guys kept pushing past.

Volume boosted by +3db. No eq.

Quite pleased with how this turned out. This was an awesome show. Loved every minute of it and it was easy to see how KISS have survived for 40 years. 04. Sign Of The Cross
05. Blood On The World´s Hands
06. Two World´s Collide
07. The Clansman
08. Fear Of The Dark
09. Man On The Edge

Notes:

First show with Blaze/Paul DiAnno and there was about 250 people
in the audience, and that´s good due to the fact that it was in the
middle of the week.

Blaze´s voice was really good, he sounded like he did in the early days.
The only "bad" thing was the fact that he did "Fear O. T. D." and
not songs like "The Edge Of Darkness" or something like that, but
we can´t get it all...

I had two people infront of me who is talking all the time...
you will hear them. I had 5 drunk guys behind me who made some
noise, you will hear them too, otherwise, the recording turned out
to be really good. Hope you like it!!

Enjoy!!

24 *Break* (1:30)
25 Battery (5:45)
26 *Break* (2:17)
27 Blitzkrieg (3:46)

Notes
- Battery put on a great show.
- They had a new singer and lead guitarist for this show.
- The band had some technical issues during Creeping Death. Sounded like the intro to One started playing right after The Ecstasy of Gold and either a bass and/or guitar had problems or was not turned on. It's fixed relatively quickly.
- A few of the breaks have conversations from the band with the crowd.
- Zero editing was done on this recording. Might be a bit low but just turn it up. Problem solved.

Show Notes
- Lots of issues...
- 1. Doors were not open on time.
- 2. Too many opening bands. THREE opening bands? About halfway through the second band people were already getting anxious. A cover of Iron Maiden's The Number of the Beast was the only thing that saved them.
- 3. For some reason it was a 21+ show. It really didn't need to be. (See #4) Remove one or two opening bands, make it all ages, and you'll probably sell more tickets.
- 4. Very few people. At most about 50 people were there. During Battery there was less than half of that.
- 5. The balcony was closed. I guess they have to sell a certain amount of tickets before it's open but a good number of people clearly wanted to go up there.
- 6. No stage lights far too many times. If it was for an "effect" it was annoying.
- 7. Guitar solos could not be heard clearly. Every solo sounded like a high-pitched whine. Somehow this recording sounds 100 times better than what we heard.
- 8. Staff obsessively throwing away empty bottles. Glass hitting glass is not an instrument that needed to be added.
- 9. The drunk guy to my right during The Four Horsemen.

"Sabbath bloody sabbath
Nothing more to do
Living just for dying
Dying just for you"

- It's going to take a band I really, really, really, want to see for me to go back there.
- Anyways, enjoy the recording! It's probably better than actually being there!

Slarty Recordings.
Staff at ABC were a pain in the arse for this show - had my Microtrack grabbed for the evening, so no recording from me, however my vertically challenged chum managed to get by (with his gear concealed under his cravat...), so this recording is courtesy of him.

Had been desperate to catch the band again, since their stint touring with Metallica on their first European leg of their Death Magnetic Tour, & they didn't disappoint - they were on it from the start.

Show was Glasgow, so fair amount of drunken gadgies, however this just added to the occasion (the Shut The Fuck Up T-Shirt was never going to work in Weegieland)...

Justin Bieber - Greensboro, NC 19.01.2013 (Believe Tour)

JUSTIN BIEBER - "BELIEVE" TOUR

January 19, 2013 - Greensboro (NC) Coliseum

Sony PCM-M10 Linear PCM Recorder (internal mics, auto levels, low-sensitivity mic setting) > cdwav (saved FLAC 6) > MP3

VG+ sounding audience recording recorded from upper desk, Section 220, Row J.

This was the second time the Mrs. and I took our two daughters to see The Biebs... and since I just have to record every show I attend, here is a very decent
sounding recording for you to share with your daughters if you'd like ... As for my review of the big show, I found that I didn't enjoy this production nearly
as much as the My World tour... maybe the "newness" has worn off for me or maybe there was way too much flash and over-production, or as my
11-year old asked me after the first song : "where did our sweet little Justin go ?" He's trying to grow up my dear... I haven't seen that many crotch grabs since,
well, the kid's idol, MJ.

As for the recording, other than the hysterical screams throughout (what would you expect ?) and the single, maniacal youngster sitting a few rows behind
us shrieking "I love you Justin Bieber !!" and like throughout the show, I believe you'll find that the show sounds really good. No need for samples, because
either you're interested in this show or you're not ...

Guests:

Thomas Vikström - Vocals on "Where the Runes Still Speak", additional vocals on "Solitude" (first chorus).
Johan Langquist - Vocals on "A Sorcerer's Pledge", duet vocals on "Darkness in Paradise", additional vocals on "Solitude" (last chorus)

Uploaders notes: This is from the celebration of Sweden Rock Magazine's 100th issue in which Candlemass was voted best Swedish hard rock/metal artist of all time. The runner up Entombed also played and both bands covered a song originally by the other. Personally, I was in TOTAL AWE of the Candlemass performance. This might have been the best Candlemass show I have ever seen. Surely every show they did with Robert Lowe that I saw just seem tragic in comparison. Now they have a singer that actually knows the songs and can deliver them with class without messing things up all the time and because of that it seems like the rest of the band have risen to a new level (or perhaps risen back to the level they belong). Now that they can trust their singer they can just go out, kick ass and let their song repertoire shine. I swear I could hear it in Lasse's soloing and Janne's drumming, there seemed to be more confidence than in a long time. The guest appearances of course lifted an already magnificent gig to yet another level. "Darkness in Paradise" is a top 5 Candlemass song in my book and I had never heard it live. To hear it was amazing, and with Johan and Mats dueting through it too! The other absolute song highlight for me was "Where the Runes Still Speak", not only is it another of my top 5 Candlemass songs (that I've only heard live once before) but Thomas Vikström also popped in and sang all those insanely high notes as if he had not aged a day since 1992 when he sang the song on the "Chapter VI" album. Of course Johan Langquist was as brilliant as ever too when he did "A Sorcerer's Pledge". The rest of the gig was excellent as well. They picked the three very best songs off "Psalms for the Dead" in my opinion. The title song is awe inspiring, truly a new Candlemass classic for the ages. Mats Levén did a great job over all and I was particularly impressed with how he sang "Under the Oak". It was an intense, dark, brooding and sensitive rendition. Enjoy. Don't sell.

Hello Everyone

Welcome to 2013 folks, hope you all survived the cliff of death and whatever media inspired doomsday event may have befell us. We start the year off with a classic show to be sure. I love BÖC in the Wolf Den! Never a dull moment and this night covered all the bases of classic BÖC. Shooting Shark and Last Days are particular favorites for me, great energy. Hope you like the soundcheck capture as well.
